Disability Grand Prix of Wales

16th & 17th May 2009

UCI Class 1 - P1 Event

Established as an  International calendar event in 2006, the Disability Grand Prix has grown every year attracting top riders from across the World.

In 2008 no fewer than 8 World Champions competed, holding between them over 30 Paralympic Medals and 5 World Records. Once more we saw an increase in the countries attending with New Zealand, Australia, USA, Germany,  Italy , Ireland and a full field from Great Britain.

The Grand Prix track events are all based on the disability classification specific distances denoted by the UCI.

One of the major objectives of the” Grand Prix” is to develop young Paralympians of the future. Every year we see a field of youth disability riders take part from the Disability Sport Wales Academy.

The event is also open to riders of all abilities.
